Hire return to top

Can I just hire? Yes. You can simply hire, or hire in the lead up to a big holiday or event (like a wedding). You can hire long term and take advantage of long term hire rates, and the flexibility of being able to upgrade or swap your equipment as your fitness needs change

Why should I hire? Hire and Try-Buy means that you will be 100% happy with your choice before you purchase.

What information do I have to provide to hire equipment? We require your contact details, home and postal address, drivers licence number, phone numbers (including a landline) email and a personal contact name and address (incase you move).

Do you charge a bond or deposit? No.

Can I extend my hire? Yes, as a long term hirer you can reap the benefit of reduced monthly rates.

Can I organise the hire over the phone? Yes, in fact most customers do, by consulting images and details on this website and taking the advice of our helpful team.

What happens at the end of the hire? We will send you a reminder letter detailing your options to rehire, take advantage of your TRY-BUY offer or asking you to contact us to organise return/ pickup.

Deliveries / Pickups return to top

Can I pick up the equipment? Yes, you will need an appropriate vehicle - in most cases this means an open ute or trailer, or a larger 4WD. Remember to bring blankets/tarps for cover and pickup on a sunny day.

Can you deliver the equipment? Yes. You can have your equipment delivered promptly in the metro area, for ground floor installation.

What do you charge for delivery? Delivery ranges from $50 depending on your access and the equipment you have chosen (for hire that includes the pickup at the end of the hire period.) Bigger machines through standard single doors usually require the equipment to be dismantled and rebuilt so may cost more.

Can I take the equipment upstairs? Yes. Please return the equipment to the ground floor for pickup.

Do you hire and sell outside the metro area? Yes, we have supplied quality fitness equipment statewide for almost 20 years. We can help with freight for boxed equipment, and for built equipment private transport is best. Please be aware that you will be responsible for returning the equipment in good condition if you hire and do not buy.

How long does it take to have the equipment delivered? You can often have delivery the same day, but depending on your access and demand it may be the same week.

Can I move the equipment ourselves to another house if we move? Yes. Please notify us of any address change in advance and remember that if you move to outside of our delivery area you will need to return the equipment at the end of your hire if you do not buy.

Do I have to be home for delivery? No, we can leave the equipment for you in a safe place out of the weather for you to wheel inside. NB Some equipment needs to be dismantled to get through a single door - its best if we do that so someone will need to meet us at the house.

Do I have to be home for pickup? No, if we ask you to, you can leave the equipment in a safe place out of the weather for us.

Equipment return to top

Why do you need to know the height and weight of the biggest person using it? All equipment has a certain capacity and we want to make sure that you choose equipment that is suitable. Eg. Treadmills - we consider not only the motor, but the deck, frame, and rollers that combine to give the treadmill an overall capacity.

Is it noisy? Depending on the equipment. Magnetic resistance equipment like cycles and XTrainers are very quiet. Treadmills are motorized so do make some noise - although normally it is your foot strike that is the loudest noise!

Will I get the same model that I chose on the web or in store? Yes, if you order a certain model for hire then that is what you will get. If, in the rare circumstance we are unable to supply that model you will get a free upgrade to the next model.

Can I keep it on my patio/verandah? No. Hire equipment must be indoors, preferably inside the house but otherwise an enclosed garage/shed is suitable with attention to keeping the equipment covered or clean. Purchased equipment should also be kept indoors as weather damage will void your warranty.

How old are the machines you hire? From brand new to approximately 12 months old in excellent condition. You get to choose especially if you are considering a TRY-BUY.

What do I need if I am using the equipment for personal training? Usually you will need light commercial or commercial equipment designed for a range of users and a heavier workload than domestic equipment is designed for. We can advise you, please call or visit

Does the equipment use much electricity? Very little, much less than a washing machine in use.

Maintenance return to top

What if something goes wrong with my equipment while it’s on hire? Call us straight away - we will troubleshoot on the phone or if necessary swap your equipment promptly and keep you going on your health fitness program.

Does the equipment need servicing while on hire? We ask you to keep the equipment clean. Also regular (every 20 hours of use, or monthly) silicon lubing of your treadmill deck is a great idea to extend the life of the motor, deck and mat. We will provide you with illustrated instructions for this and sell good quality silicon lube

How often should the treadmill be lubricated? Every 20 hours of use, or monthly.

What goes wrong with the machines? There are a range of electrical and mechanical faults that could occur, however the equipment in our range has been selected for their robustness and reliability so breakdowns are rare. Also, all equipment has been built, serviced, maintained and tested to a high standard by our experienced technicians at the Fleet Service Centre in Balcatta.

Should I use a mat under my equipment? Rubber backed low pile mats are a good idea to protect your floor, especially if you have floorboards or light coloured carpet. Also, a mat will reduce echo and noise if you are on tiles.

Fitness return to top

How often should I use my equipment? And for how long? As a general rule we should all be doing at least 30 minutes of medium intensity exercise daily. Of course your training program will depend on your existing level of health and fitness and your goals. Before commencing any new exercise/fitness training you should get expert advise or consult your doctor.

What is the best machine to use for weight loss? This really depends on personal preference - you can get cardio-vascular fitness and weight loss from consistent use of any cardio equipment. The trick is to find out which equipment you enjoy the most (or hate the least!) as this means you are more likely to use it more often and for longer, and get results. This is one of the advantages of hiring - you can swap your equipment if your current equipment is no longer working for you.

Should I hire a XTrainer or a Treadmill? We can’t answer that for you…but we can give you pros and cons for each type of equipment we hire. Please call us or visit our Balcatta showroom to discuss the best option for you and your fitness needs.
